MISSION

At Valley we believe that when we connect with the pain and hope of the communities around us we shine the light of God into people's lives and our lives change as well. We take this seriously and it's what we're all about!

Here's some ways you can currently live in tangible ways for God, for People, for a Change and shine some of God's light into the world:

Thrive - Refugee Support Program is a United Methodist organization that provides support to refugee families. Here are some of the current opportunities to volunteer:

* Partnering with refugee families as "cultural brokers" – several families are waiting currently.

* Assisting with transportation - currently looking for volunteers to take an afternoon shift to transport refugee children to and from the West Michigan Refugee Education and Cultural Center's Fall program as well as daytime transportation to doctor appointments.

* Be a "New Mom" helper- we have multiple women who are new moms!

* Visiting a family 1x per week.

* Tutoring English.

Love Inc in Allendale:

Volunteering on any Saturday in the LOVE Inc. store and donation center (work in the store, sort clothes in the donation center, move donated furniture).

Habitat for Humanity:

Habitat's vision is "A world where everyone has a decent place to live." We believe in that hope too, so we've created a lasting partnership with Habitat for Humanity and there is typically opportunities each month to help out.
